PG Group – Junior IT Systems Administrator

The PG Group is seeking to recruit a Junior Systems Administrator to join their IT team on a full-time basis.  Reporting to the Head of Information Technology Department, the selected candidate will be responsible for the day to day administration of application and operating system software, installation and maintenance of computer hardware and components and troubleshooting and responding to end-user problems and new requirements.

Candidate would be required to:

• Have a hands-on approach
• Be willing to learn and apply themselves in a dynamic working environment
• Have a sound background on Microsoft Windows 7/8/10 and MS Office applications
• Be familiar with MS Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 environments and Active Directory
• Have a working knowledge of TCP/IP network infrastructures
• Analyse and find trends amongst issues in order to find common root causes
• Be able to work flexible hours and on own initiative as per operational requirements
• Meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and assist end-users in various departments with any IT queries, problems or requirements
• Monitor, enforce and implement security procedures in line with company IT policy
• Make use of monitoring, ticketing and reporting tools
• Maintain and upkeep tools and applications on various platforms
• Create and maintain required new and existing IT related documentation
• Install various systems and applications in use within the group
• Perform application and hardware upgrades
• Physical rundown checks of various server and network rooms within the group
• Assist the Head of IT in the planning and execution of new IT projects

Desired experience/qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience in a similar position
• Basic programming or scripting experience
• Advanced Diploma in IT or similar
• Other qualifications would be considered as an asset

Responsibilities

• Be aware of what happens day to day in the store
• Maintain responsibility for one or several sections of the store as instructed by your manager.
• Keeping a basic image of the area (folding and display)
• Process sales, exchanges and refunds efficiently, accurately and quickly in all payment methods
• Ensure that good housekeeping standard are maintained on the shop floor when required, and ensure that cash desk areas are replenished and kept tidy throughout the day
• Ensure that customers are acknowledged and receive a quality service both face to face or over the telephone.

• Provide till reports throughout the day to managers and colleagues when required
• Be actively involved in the delivery and ensure new stock is available for replenishment on the shop floor before the store opens.
• Comply with the company security procedures and policies. Ensure that relevant documents are understood and signed
• Continually develop stock knowledge and promotions throughout the store
• Be available for cashiers should they request help
• Ensure effective communication with the management team at all times
• Complete other tasks as necessary to support the overall store
• Comply with the company Health and safety policy at all times
• Must have experience and qualification
• Previous fashion retail experience or customer service experience.
